Claims

Inpatient Claims Procedure

Unauthorised tests or treatment may result in your claim not being paid so please follow this procedure carefully:

  1. Request that your G.P. refers you to a consultant who has admittance rights to any BMI healthcare or Ramsay healthcare hospital.
  2. Contact the police healthcare scheme office on 0121 700 1110 and request a claim form.
  3. If treatment is required, this claim form must be completed and signed by the consulant and returned by you, along with the necessary excess payment attached, to the office for authorisation.
  4. On receipt of the claim form and cheque we will send a letter to confirm authorisation and treatment can then be received.

All claim applications must be accompanied with an excess cheque (except for cases where payments have previously been made by credit/debit card). Failure to do this will result in your claim being refused.

All tests and treatment must be at a BMI healthcare or Ramsay healthcare hospital unless prior approval has been obtained from the police healthcare scheme.
